Revetec's Green Technology
The Revetec Controlled Combustion Engine is a downsized, high torque unit that eliminates the conventional inefficient crankshaft. This is achieved by using two (2) counter rotating trilobate cams which substantially increase the overall mechanical efficiency of a combustion engine. The increased efficiency produces substantial higher torque, significantly improved fuel consumption and major reductions in carbon emissions.

In a recent Independent testing of the Revetec engine, the engine achieved a repeatable Brake Specific Fuel Consumption (BSFC) figure of 212g/(kW-h) or (38.6% engine efficiency) with a best figure of 207g/(kW-h) or (39.5%). The Toyota Prius Hybrid in comparison achieves a BSFC figure of 236g/kWh or 34.7 per cent efficiency, clearly showing that the Revetec engine is the most efficient combustion engine in the world. As the tested Revetec engine is only at a prototype level it is expected that the final production model will achieve even higher efficiencies.

The Revetec engine technology can be applied to all internal combustion engines used in land, marine and aerial vehicles, namely, automobile, light aircraft, agricultural, industrial engines, generators and marine use. This engine can be adopted for the use of petrol, diesel, ethanol, CNG and heavy fuel.

With the above attributes the Revetec engine technology can only be described as a “Green” engine technology” that is available today. This technology can lead the way and play a significant role in combating the global warming problem. It not only will cause a substantial reduction of fuel consumption but will also cause a reduction of carbon emissions by some 40% compared with the current conventional combustion engine technology. It is this substantial reduction of emissions which allows Revetec to play a significant role in the ETS.

The Revetec engine will play a key role in the implementation of the ETS.

Revetec, in the design and supply of engines, can claim Domestic offsets or Free permit allocations which it can transfer or sell under the ETS. It is part of Revetec’s strategy to retain the rights to the carbon credits when it licences its technology to third parties for production or upon the sale of engines.

One of the key greenhouse gas reduction projects is Landfill Renewable Energy Projects. These landfill projects comprise of a gas extraction system to extract landfill gas with an internal combustion engine utilizing the landfill gas to generate electricity. The electricity generated at the plant can be sold back to the local electricity grid. The Revetec Generator (Genset) is expected to play a significant role in these landfill projects
