Revetec X4v2 in Trike test day
This characteristic provides strong and instantaneous acceleration from just above idle. This characteristic also negates the need to use higher RPM to provide good acceleration. This also reduces the required RPM range an engine is normally operated in, further reducing fuel usage.

We retrofitted the X4v2 engine into a trike supplied by the Hudson Group. Brad drove the trike for the first time and right from the start it was apparent that the engine’s acceleration was impressive. With one person on the trike, the front wheel lifted off the ground with as little as 10% throttle opening. After referring to part throttle dynamometer graphs we determined that we were utilising around 25kW.

Directors from GTM Trikes visited REVETEC for an on-road test day. They were only able to throttle on about 25% which made their vehicle wheel stand until the rear crash bar was scraping on the road and maintained the acceleration.

We estimated that we used a maximum 40kW of the engine’s power. Directors of GTM concluded that using only this much power out accelerated their 130kW engine at the same engine speed. They were amazed how this was possible.  They also estimated that the fuel consumption on the day was around half of their expected usage compared with their existing engines.
