X4v2 Engine Independent
Certified Testing at Orbital - 31/03/2008
The Directors are pleased to
announce that the X4v2 engine achieved a repeatable
Brake Specific Fuel Consumption (BSFC) figure of
212g/kW-h (38.6% engine efficiency) with a best figure
of 207g/kW-h (39.5%) at our requested target test of
2,000rpm with a BMEP load of 450kpa (approximately 75%
load) and an air/fuel ratio of 15.2:1 using 98 RON
petrol and a 10:1 compression ratio. We also achieved a
BSFC figure under the same rev and load conditions using
an air/fuel ratio of 14.5:1 of 238g/kW-h (34.4%)...

X4v2 Engine has been
sent to Orbital for Independent Certified Testing -
21/02/2008
The Director's are pleased to
advise that the Revetec X4 Engine has been sent to
Orbital Australia Pty Ltd at its testing centre in
Perth for independent evaluation.
The need for
independently verified test data has been requested by
potential customers interested in Revetec technology.
The key objectives will be to
measure: brake power, brake torque, fuel emissions, fuel
consumption etc. The data will then be analysed to
determine: Full load power and torque, BSCF, BSHC, BSNOx
and BSCO... Click here for full story. |

First Road Test Day for
the X4v2 Report - 5/02/2008
On the 25th of January 2008, Shane
and Gordon Subloo travelled to Revetec's factory to test
run the X4v2 engine in their HS4 trike for the first
time. After initial preparation, Shane drove the trike
through traffic to feel its responsiveness and
acceleration as well as drivability. We then tested the
trike at light throttle response where we found the
engine to deliver acceleration well above a conventional
engines characteristics. As the day progressed Shane
tested the acceleration at higher throttle openings...

X4v2 fitted to trike and test run
in readiness for on-road fuel testing - 18/01/2008
The X4v2 engine over the last
month has been fitted into the trike for initial on-road
testing. These tests will be performed in late January.
We plan to send the X4v2 to Orbital in early 2008 for
worldwide recognised testing, data released to car
companies and other interested parties, and start
planning the fitment of the JP8 fuel system as per our
Federal Government Grant. We are pleased with our
development progress. Our in-house dyno fuel consumption
tests (BSFC) has shown great fuel efficiency gains...

X4v2 Development Update - Testing
Report 19/11/2007
The Directors are pleased to
announce the latest test results of the X4v2 Prototype
engine. We have achieved 180Nm at the start of our
dynamometer ramp test, providing almost maximum
acceleration from idle, increasing fuel efficiencies in
stop/start and cruising situations.
Enclosed in the linked document is
the latest prototype performance data. This data
includes: Power and Torque figures, Brake Mean Effective
Pressure (BMEP) graph, 3D Fuel Injection map, Engine
Benchmark Comparisons...

X4v2 Prototype engine is completed and fitted on the
dynamometer - 24/09/2007
The Directors are pleased to
announce that the X4v2 prototype engine has now been
designed, machined, assembled and running. The engine is
now fitted on the dynamometer, and we are currently
programming the engine management system in readiness
for initial testing. Improvements made include: New
higher rigidity engine block, 4 and 8 bolt main bearing
caps, new pistons and piston assembly design, improved
bearing design, new camshaft grind, increased valve
spring rating, increased cooling...
